SPECIAL APPEAL TO THE MVMAA MEMBERSHIP
 
We Need Your Help!!! 
 
The Officers and Board of Trustees are requesting additional membership participation on the various MVMAA Committees. 
 
It has been brought to our attention that some members are of the opinion that Committee participation was primarily limited to Board members.  This is not correct!!!  Membership on most of the MVMAA Committees is open to any MVMAA member who wishes to participate.
 
Please check the list of MVMAA Committees on the MVMAA website at www.MVMAA.org. If there is a Committee you are interested in serving on, please contact the respective Committee Chairperson, or send us a note with your interests to:

If you are unable to check the website, please send us a note requesting a current copy of the MVMAA Committees which will include the name of the Chairperson/Co-Chairperson to contact.

2007-2008 MVMAA Committees

Awards Committee
Activities include:

  • Review of criteria and nominations for internal and external awards.
  • Explore potential for new awards and/or joint awards within the Greater Dayton Region.
  • Other activities as assigned by the MVMAA Board of Trustees.

Winkler Memorial Award Committee
Activities include:
  • Review nominees and select the recipient(s) of the MVMAA's highest award for exceptional service to the organization.
Committee Members:
  in accordance with MVMAA ByLaws, the Committee is Chaired by the MVMAA Vice President and comprised of Past Recipients.

Events Committee
Activities include:
  • Planning and coordination of the MVMAA activities including the Annual Membership Dinner, Christmas Party, etc.
  • Planning and coordination of the activities for the various “Welcome” and “Farewell” receptions, etc. recognizing military Commanders.
  • Other special events as may arise as part of the MVMAA mission.

Family Support Committee
Activities include:

  • Liaison with WPAFB Family Support Center
  • In conjunction with various WPAFB operations, ie: Base Hospital, etc., identify and respond to needed support activities for military families.
  • Assist the “Hearts Together” family support organization with events for families of deployed and/or returning military members.

Finance/Budget Committee
Activities include:

  • Preparing the Annual Budget for MVMAA Board of Trustees Approval.
  • Review the approved Annual Budget periodically for possible amendments and submit amendments for Board approval

Golf Committee
Activities include:

  • In conjunction with the Dayton President's Club; plan, schedule, and conduct the Annual Golf Outing held at the WPAFB golf courses.
  • All net proceeds are donated to the Fisher/Nightingale Houses, which to date has totaled over $60,000.

Membership Committee
Activities include:

  • Promote the activities of the MVMAA to existing and potential members throughout the Greater Dayton Region.
  • In conjunction with the Public Relations Committee, continually update the MVMAA website as an information source for newcomers and prospective members, and the entire MVMAA membership.

Project Review Committee
Activities include:
  • Reviews existing and proposed projects.
  • Approves budget item requests for $500.00 or less.
  • Approves recommendations to the MVMAA Board of Trustees for budget item requests exceeding $500.00.
  • Other activities as assigned by the MVMAA Board of Trustees.

Public Relations Committee
Activities include:

  • Working with Public Affairs Offices of the
    •   -88th Air Base Wing, WPAFB
      -178th Fighter Wing, Springfield ANG Base
     

    -445th Airlift Wing, WPAFB

  • Working with the MVMAA Webmaster on the updating of the MVMAA Website.
  • Assists in the updating of the MVMAA PowerPoint presentation for use by Committees in marketing the advantages of the MVMAA programs, projects, and membership.
  • Other activities as assigned by the MVMAA Board of Trustees.
