How You Can Participate

The MVMAA sponsors a variety of programs that benefit its members, the military installations and the public. Association members have the opportunity to become involved in many activities.

Members are invited to help welcome groups of community leaders from all over the country to tour Wright - Patterson AFB as part of an Air Force-sponsored program. These out-of-state visitors dine at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, under the wings of vintage aircraft, and socialize with members of the MVMAA, who act as their hosts for the evening. Each visitor receives an MVMAA pin featuring the organization's crest and motto, "Military-Community Cooperation."

Each year the Association holds a membership dinner at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The Association provides special recognition to governmental bodies and Chambers of Commerce which have 100% of their elected officials or Board members as MVMAA members. This year, we're pleased to recognize Montgomery County, the Cities of Beavercreek, Fairborn, Kettering, Riverside, Vandalia and Xenia, plus Washington and Miami Townships, as well as the Miami Valley Human Resources Association.

The MVMAA and the Dayton Presidents Club co-sponsor a golf outing each spring at the Wright-Patterson AFB courses with the proceeds assisting in the support of the Fisher/Nightingale House.

Other annual programs include:

  • A get-acquainted reception at Wright-Patterson AFB each January,
  • A hangar party and fly-in or 178 th Fighter Wing family picnic at Springfield ANG Base in late summer,
  • The Greater Dayton Mayors and Managers Association annual dinner hosted by Wright-Patterson AFB each fall,
