Welcome to the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association (MVMAA) Website.
Wow, I feel so privileged and honored to be President of Miami Valley Military Affairs Assoc. and I appreciate the opportunity to serve.
You probably wonder how I got to this position. Well, it is a long story, but I will give you the
five minute version – a clift note.
I always felt connected to Wright Patterson and the Military. I grew up in East Dayton right under Wright Patt Flight Pattern. My Grandfather worked on Base and he always called it Wright Field and Patterson Field and spoke often of how proud he was working on WPAFB.
Five of my uncles fought in WWII and they all came home safely. I am so blessed. I started my business career working with research and development companies, one of those was Technology Inc. located on Col. Glen Highway. I worked with Dr. Oelker, Director of Physics Department and Biological Engineering. We received many projects from NASA in conjunction with WPAFB. I processed many interesting Milestone Reports for NASA during the years just prior to the Moon Landing.
During that time my husband Jim was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia serving in the Army. When he returned to Dayton, we were married and have three children and started a manufacturing company. We again worked with a research and development company, SRL in conjunction with WPAFB. Our company built a prototype molds that produced a helicopter blades that SRL was developing to run quietly so helicopters could avoid early detection. We built many molds for many customers and were members of Dayton Chamber of Commerce which promotes and supports Dayton, WPAFB and surrounding area businesses.
After 34 years in manufacturing, we recently retired and we are continuing to support WPAFB through Miami Valley Military Affairs Assoc. This is my 15th year as a MVMAA member and 6th year serving on the Board and now the start of my year as President of MVMAA.
So I am asking you to help me increase that support by inviting your friends and business associates to join us and attend our many events and support our many projects; because everyday Wright Patterson Air Force Base is working to preserve your FREEDOM and mine.
